How do I Start saving on Savi?

To Get started on Savi.ng

  • Visit www.savi.ng or search for Savi on App store/Play-store and download to create an account.
  • Add a bank account from which we can automatically deduct your savings
  • Set up your withdrawal account details.
  • Add a goal: specify your savings name, amount, and the savings mechanism towards achieving this set goal.
    • Add Payment card : Register a debit card on the platform to enable you make your first deposit and add funds to your savings account.

Why do I have to add my BVN?

Your BVN is required to validate your identity and kick against identity theft. This ensures another level of safety for your funds and transactions.
It is also required by the NDIC agency that ensures standard security.

I don’t have access to my phone number linked to my BVN, what do you suggest I do?

In a situation, where you no longer have access to the phone number linked to your BVN, kindly contact your bank to update the phone number.

However, You can proceed with your registration by using the correct date of birth linked with your BVN.

How much can I start saving on Savi?

Are there bank charges for the automated debits?

No! Savi.ng offers you no bank charges for funding your Savi.ng account.

What kind of debit cards work on Savi?

Savi.ng accepts debit cards issued by all Nigerian banks (MasterCard, Visa or Verve Cards).

What kind of savings plans are available on Savi?

Savi.ng currently offers two savings plans.

  1. Goal Savings: With our goal savings plans you are able to save and earn consistently towards a financial goal or set of goals such as rent, school, gadgets, or travel.
  2. Periodic Savings: Our periodic savings feature helps you meet commitments to long term financial goals by saving daily, weekly or monthly.

How does the Savi.ng automatic savings work?

Autosave automatically pays your set savings amount to your Savi.ng account from your set debit card.

All transactions on your debit card will be visible on your dashboard and you will also get receipts every single time you fund your Savi.ng account.

Would I be charged penalty fees if I don't have funds in my account?

No you won’t, We will be unable to debit you for the set date and we will only save for you when you have sufficient funds in your debit card.

What interest rates does Savi.ng offer?

Savi currently offers 8% per annum on your goal savings or periodic savings plan.

How does my earnings accumulate?

Your interest is accrued daily and is paid at the end of your target.

How is Savi.ng able to afford higher returns compared to Traditional banks?

At Savi.ng our operational costs are relatively low. We do not operate multiple branches or hire a lot of staff to manage operations. These cost savings are passed to our customers in the form of higher returns. 

When can I withdraw my money?

You can withdraw your money with interests free on only set withdrawal dates. Any day outside the withdrawal days will attract a penalty.

Do I get auto-debited for my bank charges?

No, you won’t get auto-debited.

With Savi.ng, there are no bank charges or maintenance fees.

Are my card details safe?

Yes, our customer’s privacy and safety are our priorities.
Savi.ng data encryption is built directly into the app. Therefore, your information can not be taken from your account.

We’ve also partnered with a PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor to handle all our customers’ card details. The PCI-DSS is a standard guide, globally, that all reputable payment processors must adhere to as directed.
We do this to ensure transparency in our conduct.

How secure is my money with Savi.ng?

Savi.ng is a property of VFD Microfinance Bank, a limited liability company, regulated by the Central Bank of Nigeria as a microfinance bank.

Our investment professionals invest savers funds in financial instruments and manage the investments to ensure optimum return. Therefore, you save safely and smartly with us.

Are there penalties I should be aware of ?

PENALTY 1 – A user can’t withdraw funds before 30 days. (There is a minimum of 30 days holding period for every savings).

 

PENALTY 2 – If a user’s funds is locked, he/she can’t access it till the set end date.

 

PENALTY 3 – Any attempt to withdraw before the set end date by a user whose fund is not locked but has crossed the minimum holding period of 30days would be successful, but the user will lose every interest saved. 

 

PENALTY 4 – If a user fails to withdraw his funds after the set end date, the user’s fund will automatically rollover to start a new savings plan with the same conditions above.

 

PENALTY 5 – For a partial withdrawal before the set end date, a user will lose his/her interest earned while interest accrues daily on the leftover fund.
